Well after using Wordpress v2.3.3 for a short time, we have discovered that it is to dependant on MySQL and needs some attention, at least on our servers.

Hats off to the Authors of Wordpress for an excellent program and concept, but our Engineers feel we can speed-up the delivery content of Worpress tremendously!

And yet another project is born at Hughes Labs….

Our Engineers have found Perl and MySQL to be a very good combination for certain web application projects that we have done in the past.

So our early approach will be to merge Perl into Wordpress and use this Technology Blog as the testing bed. Keeping with the Open Source concept of Worpress, anything we develop will also be Open Source.

Any Perl and MySQL Coders are welcomed to contribute to this undertaking…

We will use this Blog to post our comments, Ideas, Modules etc. for the Wordpress Speed Project.
